Freedom of Information and Protection of Individual Privacy

Information on students can be obtained by educational institutions, potential employers, and other agencies as follows:

  • Only those items determined to be matters of public record shall be released in response to telephone inquiries.  These are enrolment status (dates and program), degrees or diplomas earned, specialization and home and local addresses and telephone numbers unless excluded at the teacher candidate's request.

  • Prospective employers may verify academic standing data supplied by the teacher candidates by forwarding a release signed by the teacher candidate.

  • If requested by the teacher candidate, academic standing will be released verbally or by fax to selection committees and educational institutions.

  • Information regarding teacher candidates will be released to funding agencies, parents, or guardians only upon the teacher candidate's written request.

  • Requests for statistics and/or aggregate data should be made through the Office of the Registrar.
